There are some times when I am happy when the weekend ends and we can get back to our normal routine for the week. My husband goes to work, I stay home, clean, figure out what's for dinner, work on my website, design some things for my CafePress shop, maybe sew something new for my sewing shop. It seems like for the past week we've been on different pages. Normally, my husband and I mesh together very well. We can usually tell what the other is thinking, we're aware of each other's feelings, we're just almost always in sync. But the past week we just can't seem to be cohesive. It's a crappy feeling, we're not used to it and sometimes it's difficult to get back to normal. I'm going to blame it on the move, we've been here for about 3 weeks but there are still broken down boxes in the house (our complex only has trash compactors, so we have to break all the boxes down to a specific size...not something we're jumping to do) and I haven't set up my sewing room. I guess after being in California for so long, a huge move like this was bound to upset our routines for a while. I'm just hoping we get back into them soon, I don't like arguing with my husband.

Super Lazy Cheesy Pasta
My husband and I have been eating salads for the past couple weeks, trying to cut out fast food and fatty snacks. For us, that's a HUGE deal. We both love to eat, and we kind of enable each other to eat whatever we want. My husband tells me I'm beautiful and that he loves my body no matter what weight I happen to be at the time, so I'm never really concerned if I put on a few pounds. I guess I'm considered overweight for my height, but then again I've never wanted to be a 110 pound 5'2 skinny chick. That might work for some people but it doesn't for me, I like to fill out my clothes!

Chicken & Wild Rice Casserole
There are no introductions for this recipe. It took me literally 5 minutes to make, all in one dish. Who doesn't love that?! And it's husband approved so I'm definitely going to make it again. Let's see it!

Pizza Cupcakes
I often take lunch to my husband while he's at work, I like seeing him in the middle of the day. It's like a mini R&R until I get to see him at night. Yeah, I'm very attached to my husband when he's home and he describes me as 'clingy'. But in the same breath he says, "I love clingy." I was so fortunate to find someone who was so similar to myself, he's just as clingy as I am and as he's always deploying, whenever he's home we're practically inseparable.
Anyway, I was taking lunch to him a few weeks ago and stayed to eat with him. As he's walking me out of the shop another Marine stops us and we start talking about cupcakes. I'd taken his shop about 4 batches at this point and people were starting to make requests, and this guy had a request. Pizza cupcakes. Psh, are you kidding? Of course I can do that. He pulls out his wallet and hands me $15 for supplies. Sweet, no one's ever paid me before!

Cinnamon Roll Cupcakes
It's all about wowing the people in my husband's shop. It makes me feel good to get so many compliments about the yummy treats I make for them, and they've even started making requests. I even got paid to make Pizza Cupcakes, but that's another post! I saw these on-where else-Pinterest and since I love cinnamon rolls, I wanted to try it. I'll show you how I made them but I'll also include a link to the original recipe since I had to deviate from it to suit the supplies I had. Let's see 'em!
Cookies N' Cream Cupcakes
It's 8am right now, and I've been up since about 0530 :/ As a Marine, my husband has to get up before the sun to be off to work. Some days I can fall back asleep for a few hours, but most days I end up staying up and waiting until normal people are awake so I can start my day. If I could, I'd be cleaning, vacuuming and sewing at 6am to pass the time but I don't think my neighbors would particularly like that! So I'm sitting here in bed, fine tuning the look of my blog and realizing that I have a lot of recipes that I need to post on here! I've made several batches of cupcakes for my husband's shop and many yummy new dishes for my husband since he came home from his most recent deployment. This is one of them! He loves cookies and cream anything, so I told him about this Oreo cupcake recipe I'd found through Pinterest and he asked me to make it. Can't say no to him.
