I have been sadly neglecting my blog :( I don't mean to, but with the holidays and our PCS fast approaching posting on here is at the back of my mind. I have so many things I want to post but I'm afraid they'll have to wait until we're settled safe and sound in Virginia. Rest assured, I am keeping a list of everything I want to write about. Crafts, recipes, military life articles, there will be a lot of goodies coming up so stay tuned!
I'm writing this post because it's super simple to make! I sat down yesterday and it took me about 30 minutes from start to finish. The end result is a pretty, sparkly (if you have glitter ornaments) piece to hang on your front door. So, let's see it:

Supplies:
Ornaments (I used the shatterproof ones from Walmart, about 50-60 ornaments) Hot glue gun Wire or wire hanger Wide ribbon
Step 1: Get a wire hanger, the thinner the better, and stretch it out. I am going to experiment with the wire you can find in spools because I'm not sure where in the world you can get wire hangers anymore. You'll need it thin because you'll have to twist it together at the end.
Step 2: Hot glue the ornament tops to the ornaments. You'll need to do this, as the ornament tops can pop off while you're assembling the wreath. It takes maybe 10 minutes to do them all.
Step 3: String ornaments onto the wire. You can follow a pattern you have in mind or just put them on randomly.
Step 4: Once you reach your desired wreath size, twist together the two wire ends and "fluff" the ornaments. Rotate them, fan them out where you want them to sit so they all fit together nicely. Then finish it off with a nice big bow and loop for a hanger!
Enjoy your wreath and feel free to link up your results! |
