Help & Support Groups

As the spouse of a deployed service member, you are not alone. You can find support for emergencies, financial and family advice.

Emergencies

The American Red Cross is a valuable source for information and referrals, as well as instruction in emergency first aid. The Red Cross can also help you get in touch with a deployed service member in the event of an emergency at home.
Most communities have hotlines to help you deal with family emergencies such as poison control, domestic or child abuse, and suicide prevention. See the front of your local telephone book for the numbers.

Financial

The Air Force Aid Society, Army Emergency Relief, Coast Guard Mutual Assistance and Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society provide interest-free loans and grants for troops and their families needing financial support.
USAA members can also receive free financial guidance from licensed professionals by calling Member Advice and Solutions at 1-800-472-8722.

Family

Army Community Services (ACS), Navy and Marine Corps Family Service Centers (FSC) and Air Force Family Support Centers (FSC) are valuable sources of information.
The United Services Organization (USO) has educational and recreational programs for military spouses and their families.

Other Support Services

  • Military Installation Ombudsman's Office
  • Salvation Army
  • Family Advocacy
  • Life Skills Enhancement Center
  • Installation Chaplain
